My research is about ocean observatories and automated data processing to infer knowledge and take decission from oceanographic data. I am focusing on data from in-situ hyperspectral sensors, located on both fixed nodes and mobile nodes (such as vertical profiles or AUVs), used to detect algal blooms. The motivation behind this research is: as sensing technologies evolve, the amount of data we can obtain increases, and the analysis of these data can not be left directly to scientists, because they would suffer from data overload. Data should be automatically processed and filtered, in order to separate the "interesting" data (according to scientists creiteria) from the "boring" data. In addition to that, sensing platforms should modify its behaviour automatically and intelligently, based on the data they sample.
